I was on a school trip today with 25 eager and excited preppies when another mum asked for a panadol as she has a some head tension brewing… and I can totally understand why! The kids were so noisy and chaotic!

I don’t ever carry any with me and sadly I did not have my oils with me at the time either but it got me thinking about all the times I have been hit with head tension and how I have used my oils in the past to help me.

I am a busy mum with three young boys. I juggle the house and a business from home so there is no way I can be knocked out with unbearable tension and discomfort. And when i do experience my occasional discomfort I turn to my oils and after one or two applications my conditions tends to improve and i can keep going.

From the Aromatouch kit (pictured above), there are many combos you can use to address a number of contributing factors as to how and why you are in a state of dis-ease. Head tension can be caused by so many things so it is good to do check in with your body and ask the following questions.

> Have you missed a meal? Or had an extra coffee than you usually do?
> When is the last time you had a glass of water?
> Are you dealing with a stressful situation?
> Are you due for your period?
> Did you get a broken or disruptive sleep?
> Are you in a state of compromise?
> Are due for a screen break (i totally suggest you get BLUE BLOCKERS if you work in front of a screen)
> Are you in frequent physical discomfort? (See Back Support Blend recipe)

I find essential oils like Lavender and Peppermint together with fractionated coconut oil applied topically to the temples, back of neck, shoulders in a loving massage is a good start especially for my boys when i know they have been out in the sun a little more than ordinary.

For me personally, I start with this same blend too in a rollerball and should it persist I add in the big guns like Frankincense (and taken internally under the tongue) and Copaiba into the rollerball which both support the nervous system.  Applying Balance grounding blend and wild orange also to my pulse points in conjunction with focused breathing asssists the body to return to its natural state of calm should I be feeling overwhelmed at the same time

If you are able to take a minute to listen into your body you may find the answers. Essential oils applied topically are fast, effective and when diluted properly, safe which is why they are a fabulous first step to support the discomfort you are experiencing.

You may need to also support physical discomfort by using the Aromatouch massage blend which is particularly great to stimulate blood flow using the oils of Basil and Cypress. Ice Blue (aka Deep Blue in the Back Support Blend) supports muscles and joints and is also useful to apply to the neck and shoulders during your heightened state of discomfort
